Hi,

I am unsure if i am in the right place or not, sooo confused... :D

I purchased a ZX Evolution a couple of oyears ago and haven't really used it much. I have recently remembered about it and had a couple of questions.

is it possible to make an edge connector adaptor to use original zx spectrum hardware? e.g. original expansion port to zxbus?

Does it support Turbosound mod?

how does it compare to the spectrum next?

is there a list of zx bus peripherals anywhere that i could build? as all i've seen is the sound card - NEOGS

Many Thanks - If this isnt the correct place would anyone be able to point me where to go? Thanks!

"zxbus" is not fully compatible with ZX edge connector, because Russian clone makers from 90s understood meaning of some signals wrongly - you can read more about this here:

So it wouldn't just be a board to convert the zxbus to a std zx spectrum ext port?

Damn...

Thanks for the reply.. I'll have a proper look through and see if there is anything i can do... Or start looking to mod / rebuild some add ons...

I have this adapter board designed, but never tried ;)

Image

Probable adapter from NEMOBUS (aka Russian ZX-BUS) to ZX-edge (real ZX-BUS):

29 left (+12V) -> 22 left (+12V)
15 right (RDR / CSROMCE) -> 25 right (ROMCS)

+9V, -5V, 12VAC (or -12V) and VIDEO/Y/V/U - not connected

But NeoGS uses both ROMCS (in Russian clones it is input) and CSROMCE (output to disable internal ROM) - it will be a conflict with this approach...

Is this to convert the zxbus in the evolution to a different russian standard or is nemobus another name for what is on the board?

I aplogise as I dont have any experience with pentagons or scorpions (yet)

Russian zxbus is actually NemoBus that appeared first on KAY computers from guy named Nemo (ZXEvo has almost complete NemoBus)

P.S. ZXEvo help is better to get on other forum where its authors are mostly staying - http://nedopc.com/forum/
