Hi,

I built a Galaksija by PVV 2018 PCB by Fifan. Everything except the SD card is working.

I enter A=USR(&F000)

and see
SDOS_V8.6
A:>

When I enter DIR it shows no files.

I have two different SD cards formatted FAT16. One is a 1.0G and the other 512MB. Both are SanDisk.

All solder connections look good. I also replaced all the IC's in the SD circuit.

When I look at the spi lines I see clock and activity on MOSI line. /CS goes low, and stays low. I see no activity on the MOSO line. I assume that nothing is coming back from the SD card?

Can someone let me know what to check for?

Thank you

len

Hi!
I think you don't have an SD card defined.
You must format the SD card completely with the clear table of contents check box removed.
After that, write the files to the SD card.

Hello
You need to test two thing.
First, value of R44 need change from 2K to 1K.

Second, due of simplicity and small size of SDOS, format FAT16, witch produces Windows, may bee not recognized. So, as fifan said before, you need right format SD card.
I format it in Linux, and SDOS recognized it ok. Or you may format it in old photo camera.
Of course it is possible to write raw disk image for emu to SD.
Under Linux "dd if=./SD4.mmc of=/dev/sdX".
In this case you SD will have right FAT16 format and all program for Galaxy in one action.
In Windows it can also be done, but I do not know the names of the programs for this.

But, first of all, you need to see "SD_V1 or SD_V2 or SD_V2+ (this is SDHC card)" next line after line SDOS_V8.6, (look: viewtopic.php?f=71&t=9407&start=150#p145047
) and it doesn't matter if your card have correct FAT16 or not.
So try change R44 first and check all around it.

Hi,

Still not working.

I changed R44 to 1k. I also reformatted the SD card using linux to FAT16. I also changed R42 and R46 to 1k.

I cleaned and checked the SD socket to make sure the connections were all good.

What brand of SD works for you? Mine is a not very special SanDisk. SDOS does not report the card.

Even before running SDOS should there be any activity coming from the 74LS299 to the MOSI line?

I tried a Sony 4G SDHC card formatted for FAT16 and it also does not work.

I got it working today!!!

After I changed the resistors yesterday I got a clean signal on my logic analyzer. From there is was down to isolating two bad 74LS74's. Amazingly, 3 out of 5 LS74's I bought were bad.

Thanks for your help!
