Hi my name is Annika, I'm the head of our Natami-IT and Testing-Department.
This Easter we got a new piece of computing device to replaced our old and outdated Windows 7 and Intel-CPU IT-infrastructure.
Please join me for the next days, on an exciting journey testing the new hardware and exploring new computing concepts .
Today we will focus a totally new idea in the IT field. Its called "plug-and-play"
Here you can see the NATAMI MX Board. As you can see it its rather small. The board is actually smaller than the CD Drive.
We have plugged the NATAMI together with existing devices like Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor and harddrive and CD-Rom
The NATAMI MX comes with IDE-Ports.
My dad told me that these IDE connectors allow you to pluggin in any existing AMIGA IDE drive and so you can use it without the need to install it.
Does this sounds easy?
Yes, and actually this is easy, all you need to do is to go down into the basement and pull one of those metal boxes out of one of the old computers that your dad is collecting here.
As you can see the NATAMI will recognise the hard drive immediately.
If you are at the basement you can also pull out of of those smaller drives called "floppy drive". The NATAMI can use any floppy drive (AMIGA or PC) and can use it to read AMIGA floppies.
Now this was easy. And after I've installed a nice backdrop image of a favourite fairy, we have a system ready to play!
More to come tomorrow.
