Pentagon/Scorpion 1024k Compatible

Post by b00mzi11a »

Hi, I have tried asking Peters Plus as well, but no reply yet. Does anyone here think there is a chance of the Sprinter having 1024k spectrum compatability? If the answer is yes then I will order my Motherboard straight away : ) !

Well the problem witn 1024 is that it do not have any standart! Like pentagon and scorpion have different ports. in ZX SPrinter mode, sprinter computer have acces to all 4096Kb, but there is NO spftware that is using it. Even IS-DOS CHIC 2000 is using 256Kb only.

Walker

Post by b00mzi11a »

Thanks for the reply :) The main reason I ask is because I want to play "Walker" game on the sprinter. This game says either Pentagon or Scorpion 1024k required, so I think it detects which one you have. Does much software apart from Walker need 1024k? Do you think it might work on Sprinter?

No this do not run on sprinter, but becaouse of RAM, infact this game runs on 256Kb machine. It dose not run because o Sprinter's CPU. Z84 Cpu series(including Z80H), have equal comnsd out (c),FF and out (c),0 opcodes^)

Is this a normal problem?

Post by b00mzi11a »

Hi :) thanks so much for testing it - Does the sprinter have many problems like this with pentagon/scorpion spectrum software? I know it is *not* a spectrum , but what i want it for is mainly Spectrum hardware emulator..

thanks!

In fact sprinter is spectrum. The only differences are extended mode. And that TLL logick chip/ULA is inside PLD/Altera.
