PetersPlus site

Post by Marcelo »

I know there's something you know -or at least wonder about- in the Russian part of this forum :rotate:
Can anyone tell for sure (but in english) what the hell is going on with Peters site, forum and, maybe, company?
Does anyone know? Will Sprinter die? :(
Did anyone try to email Alex Goryachev, Anton Enin or some other guys there? (I did not, yet)

Please reply!

Thanx.

May I say by words of famous american literate? ;)
Donald Rumsfeld wrote: Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know.
Seriously:

So, Anton Enin never works in PetersPlus. He only made a few programs for Sprinter. Now he develops games for set-top boxes. Alex Goryachev had not worked in PetersPlus since summer 2003, because he found a better job (gamedev for set-top boxes). At present, person, who is liable for Sprinter in PetersPlus, is Igor Borisov. He said that future of Sprinter will be decided in a first quarter of 2004. All old promises will be accomplished. Author of Sprinter Ivan Mak works in PetersPlus, but they don't have enough money for development of new mainboard :(

When forum.petersplus.com died (for time or forever?) we decided to make Sprinter portal here (see first approach http://www.shaos.net/nuke/). We have all Sprinter software and almost all messages from petersplus forum. I hope Sprinter will live...

Thanks for the -not so good- news. Too bad that Sprinter seems (on the official side at least) to go down

So, replies, now:

Shaos, I saw the forum portal, but I could not find anything Sprinter related... I have just registered, thanks :D

Cr0acker, I saw your site. Good indeed :D Thank you as well. But, let me point out a crossed link: The http://cr0acker.narod.ru/docs/msxc.html address points to the RamDrive creator, not MSX's SolidC. I was hoping to get the docs for MSX in english, since Sprinter's is russian only. At first I my suspicions came down to Opera (my official browser), but then I tried  MSIE 6  with the same result.

I offer to cr0acker to relocate "Unofficial Sprinter" to my portal (I made it only a few days ago).

Thanks to you both. 8)

I don't know if english is widely spoken in Russia, but I would recommend making all docs in english (firstly, at least). Heck, even my native language is spanish!
Most technically oriented internet people speak or at least read english, and this new site (Nuke's) seems heavily technical
In the not-english countries I've been this is a fact (Poland, Chile, my own Argentina). My coworkers say the same (they've been in United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, S. Africa, Colombia, Mexico, etc...)

Another advantage is that we all "know the words": You'd say "PATH", not "ROUTE" like they sometimes say here in Argentina , totally confusing the reader/listener :P

I offer myself to "beautify" in my little free time any machine translation you might have (given I understand it )

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you. I think we will make both english and russian documents (Nuke supports multilingual contents, hidden for different languages), because russian "underground" technical people (ZX/Z80-lovers) don't know English :(
Russian technical "mainstream" know English as few as necessary to understand "File-Open" and "Save as"...
So, both languages will be here

We helped to live a few longer for old PetersPlus forum about Sprinter, but only in "read-only" mode: http://www.eng.petersplus.ru/forum/wwwthreads.php

And we made "Unoffitial Sprinter" site as forwarding from http://www.petersplus.com
