Nothing to stop someone using ZXodus for a strategy game. The 3D part doesn't really run fast enough for real-time combat like ZXoom though. Personally I'm planning on using the engine to create a cRPG. Although I'm writing it in English, I'm planning to release it in Russian and Spanish first. I've got translators lined up, but I am going to need a hand converting the game from tape to TR-DOS at some point. The main issue will be converting the Rainbow processor, which currently "cheats" and uses the ULA contention to line up the attribute updates. 3D engines are nothing new, but I don't think anyone has ever done one using 8x1 attributes before.Lavr wrote:Deja vu...Once I've seen something similar...
